Dr. Seiden graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Stony Brook University and then received his MD from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed a General Pediatric Residency and a Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital, NY and then a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Seiden was on the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Mount Sinai Hospital from 1997-2004. He then joined the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and the Associate Chief of Service of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, where he was also the Program Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Training Program and an active member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee. Dr. Seiden returned to the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2012 as Associate Professor and Vice Chair for Mentorship in the Department of Pediatrics, where he is also the Associate Division Chief and Director of Medical Education in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, as well as Director of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care and Inpatient Services. He was awarded Attending of the Year and Teacher of the Year honors in 2001 and 2006, respectively.
Dr. Seiden created the prototype for the Akeso program and has been instrumental in its development and implementation. Dr. Seiden's passion for and experience in medical education is reflected in the Akeso software.
